Compensation & Benefits

Upstate Commercial Refrigeration & HVAC is committed to building a professional team environment where skilled technicians are respected, supported, and rewarded for their performance in the field.

Paid Time Off

We believe time away from work is important for maintaining long-term performance and work-life balance.

• 3 weeks paid time off during years 0–1
• 4 weeks paid time off beginning in years 2–5
• 6 paid company holidays each year

Company Vehicle

Technicians are provided with a company service vehicle.

The vehicle may be driven home each night, reducing commute time and allowing technicians to start their day closer to the first service call.

The company provides core service equipment and materials, while technicians are expected to maintain and provide their personal hand tools and preferred specialty tools.

Paid Commute Time

We respect the time our technicians spend traveling for work.

Technicians may receive up to 4 hours of paid commute time per day depending on job location and scheduling.

On-Call Compensation

Technicians participating in after-hours emergency service receive:

• $150 on-call compensation

Additional overtime pay applies for any service work performed during on-call shifts.

Performance-Based Pay Structure

Compensation at Upstate Commercial Refrigeration & HVAC is designed to reward skill, independence, and technical ability.

Raises are not based on annual reviews or time with the company.

Instead, pay advancement is based on demonstrated performance in the field, including:

• diagnostic accuracy
• ability to independently complete service calls
• workmanship quality
• customer professionalism
• technical growth and certifications

Technicians who demonstrate strong technical ability and independence advance more quickly within the pay structure.
